Publicly known as the Republic of Iceland, is located in northwestern Europe. It comprises of the island of Iceland and its distant small islands in the northern Atlantic Ocean between Faroe Islands, Scotland, Ireland, Norway, and the Greenland. Iceland’s active volcanoes, glassy glaciers, spectacular geysers, stunning waterfalls, hot thermal springs, snow-capped mountains and lava fields, certainly makes it the unusual ‘land of fire and ice’.

People might surprise what one can do in Iceland. Iceland is a very large island with a distinctive countryside which is rugged and colorful with black lava, hot blue geysers, fjords, waterfalls, red sulfur, rivers, bays and green valley. Nearly half of Iceland’s population lives around Reykjavík. Reykjavík is the capital of Iceland which is also the largest city of Iceland. The most famous attraction in the city is Gullfoss double-tiered waterfall which is set off with wonderful rainbow and hot springs of Geysir. The popular tourist attractions are centered on this city.

If you hear the list you will be surprised that there are so many things to do and see in the Iceland. From watching whales to chic fine hiking, dining, seeing Europe’s largest glacier Vatnajokull, rafting, fishing in rivers, horse riding, exploring the countryside on a snow scooter, Summer Solstice Festival, shopping designing cloths, visit Island of Grimsey to cross the Arctic Circle, visit medieval farm at Stong and what not, the list is endless.
